Thundercats: Sword of Omens

The Sword of Omens from Thundercats, built in both states from the cartoon: the gauntlet dagger and the full sword, each with a lit Eye of Thundara.

Thundercats
Cartoon

The Sword of Omens from Thundercats, built in both states it appears in as the cartoon: the 'dagger' that holsters in Lion-O's gauntlet, and the fully extended sword. Both are sold through the shop.

The two share the same hilt core and differ by their Eye of Thundara gem: cat's-eye for the dagger, Thundercats sigil for the sword. Whichever state it is in, the Eye lights up.

Inside each is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, topped up over USB-C through a port hidden under the screw-off pommel.

Development: Two Variants

The process of creating the Sword of Omens design involved two variations, as the sword is shown in the cartoon in two distinct states - the 'dagger' variant, which is holstered in Liono's gauntlet, and the fully extended 'sword' variant.

Both variations share some design elements of course. The central core of the hilt is the same for both, with different 'Eye of Thundara' gems being used depending on which state the sword is in - cats-eye for the dagger, and the Thundercats sigil for the sword.

Both also contain a high-quality rechargeable lithium-ion battery, with a USB-C port concealed beneath the screw-off pommel for easy recharging.
