Paladins: Io's Light Bow
The celestial bow of Io from Paladins: a full-size prop over a metre across, with its purple detailing lit from within.
The celestial bow of Io from Paladins: over a metre tip-to-tip, built as a commission for a cosplay ensemble.
A design that needed real engineering: hollow internals to run the LEDs, while staying sturdy enough to hold up its own size and weight. All the purple detailing glows from internal LEDs, except the crescents on the tip of each arm, which may get their own lights in a Mk2.
A built-in rechargeable battery runs the glow.
Development
This weapon was a big one, and a pretty unique one for me (to date, at least!) as it involved a lot of engineering in the design due to the need for hollow internals for LED runs, while still needing to be sturdy enough to hold up to its own expansive size and weight.
All of the purple detailing on the bow has internal LEDs shining through them, except for the crescents on the tip of each arm... but maybe that will be added if I ever make a Mk2!
The bow was then used as the focus point of an amazing cosplay ensemble by the incredibly talented Sock.Cosplay. Please visit her Instagram and show her some support! - Sock.Cosplay Instagram
