Judgement of Shamash Pistols
The Judgement of Shamash twin pistols from Honkai Impact 3rd: a cosplay pair with floating, LED-lit crystals.
The Judgement of Shamash, the God Key twin pistols from Honkai Impact 3rd. Built as a commission cosplay set, and worn as the centrepiece of the client's ensemble.
An unusual design to build: a futuristic pressure plate instead of a trigger, decorative elements looping across the pistols, and a crystal that appears to float in front of the grip.
That floating crystal is LED-lit, suspended on a translucent PETG tube that carries the wiring, with a built-in rechargeable battery powering the whole thing.
Development
The Judgement of Shamash pistols are an unconventional design. They use a futuristic pressure plate rather than a trigger, and the decorative elements loop across the body of each pistol. Shapes like that are not kind to FDM printing, and the pieces are too large to print in resin efficiently.
The other notable feature is the floating crystal. I initially planned to suspend it on a thin steel rod, but powering the LED inside the crystal was the problem. A translucent PETG tube solved both: it suspends the crystal and carries the wiring, keeping the levitating effect working.
The pair met the client's brief on both looks and function.
The pistols were then used as the focus point of an amazing cosplay ensemble by the very talented Laurelin. Please visit her Instagram and show her some support! - LaurelinAureo Instagram
