Ork Banner wall icon: 'Goffs'

The Ork Banner of the Goffs Klan from Warhammer 40,000, made as a wall hanging 30cm across. It started as a one-off Christmas present for a friend of mine who is an Ork fan.

Designed in Blender with simplicity of design and assembly in mind. Printed in white, black and red plastics, with keyhole slots so it hangs off a wall screw, and only the steel-coloured pieces need painting, done in metallic paint.

This version is a few years old. The next one will be printed in metallic 'steel' filament for a shinier finish with less paint, and with better surface quality to match.

The background for this one is pretty short 'n' sweet. I was thinking of a unique Christmas present idea for a friend of mine, and they are a fan of the Ork faction in Warhammer 40k, and when I looked at this icon design, I thought... “This would look cool on a wall”. And thus - the Goff Icon wall hanging was born.

Designed in blender, this piece was created with simplicity of design and assembly in mind. Due to the simple colours, I can print the resulting piece in white, black and red plastics, leaving only the ‘steel’ pieces to be painted with metallic paints for a nice realistic effect.

This was a couple of years ago though, and since then I have improved my production quality along with my range of materials. The next iteration of this will use 'steel' coloured metallic filaments for a nice shiny finish, and less need for paint. The surface quality will also be improved.
